Recent Activities
April 2007
Just been to the PikeView Hike incident hike (www.pikeviewhike.co.uk) held at Bibbys
Farm Scout Camp at Rivington. 28km in 8 hours with 6 checkpoint incidents to
complete and an ongoing incident/ quiz to complete as you walk the course.
Plotting the route was a killer but we did it at last and only got lost a few
times……well, OK, more than a few times. Even so it was a good weekend yet again.

October 2006
Back to the chariot race at Bispham Hall where we
improved on last year and even qualified to run again in the second leg on
Sunday. Still no placing though – perhaps 2007 will be our year! Oh, by the way
the Scouts won the chariot of chariots trophy again with a quizzical ‘what’s in
the box’ chariot.
August 2006
Completed the Atherton HQ – Middlewood – Dunham Massey
trek this month, all 28 miles of it! We started on the Friday evening, deprting
HQ at around 18:00 and walked the 9 miles or so to Middlewood Camp, fully laden
with packs and provisions. There we camped overnight while the leaders and scouts
stayed in a hut. The following day we walked all the way to Dunham village
along the canals of

Explorers is underway at last with it’s first camp on 23-25th June 2006, when we camped out back-woods style in the woods at Waddecar, and completed a 6 mile hike with fully-loaded packs to prepare us for the proposed Atherton-Middlewood-Dunham Massey hike later in the summer.
